In a previous post I mentioned ordering custom golf balls for
business functions and I’d like to run with this a little bit and
provide some ideas on how to effectively go about this.
Granted there are more effective ways to advertise but typically
they cost much more and why not do what you can since every little
bit helps.

Many companies today are giving out golf balls at golf tournaments
that they are sponsoring, in fact I just got back from one today.
All of the custom golf balls we played with had the consulting
company hosting the tournament on them. Now the main purpose to
sponsoring the golf tournament is to have your name attached to
the event which improves the company visibility and image.

The greater the size of the event the more exposure. Compare a pro
tournament to a local one. Pro are all over TV, papers and
internet and along with the pros that come to town whose name will
be tied to them, that’s right the companies. Local will just be
people in the community playing or volunteering.

When sponsoring an event on a lesser scale giving out custom golf
balls to all the participants is a great way to have your company
name sticking with people even after they leave the golf course.
Unlike other plastic junk companies give out typically golf ball
won’t go to waste. If someone doesn’t care to play again they
will give logo golf balls to someone who does like to play.

One thing to consider as well is the type of golf ball you use for
company name. Heck, even if people don’t know your company they
will hold on to a titleist Pro v1 or a pro v 1x that for sure
since they go for about 3.75 a pop.

You also might was to think about handing out custom golf balls to
potential business partners and/or potential customers at seminars or trade shows.

These days a high percentage of people are golfers so it’s tough
to lose when it comes to handing out golf balls and golf balls
last quite a while keeping your company name with them. Business
cards these days just get lost or thrown in the garbage or lost in
a pile of other crappy business cards.
Using some of the tips above can go a long way for your custom golf ball promotion.
