There are a variety of golf balls available on the market today.
The most common are the custom golf balls with
imprinted messages. These types of golf balls are starting to
replace cards as a means of communication. There is a distinction
between the playable and non playable custom golf balls. The balls
that are playable are branded balls that are imprinted with
personal text while the non playable balls have a different core
structure to that of regular golf balls. Playable golf ball are
usually more expensive.

One humorous type of custom golf ball is the exploding golf ball.
This type of golf ball is meant to create a big bang sound at
impact and pretty much disintegrate. The result of this people
jumping out of their shorts on the tee box. Most young golfers
prefer this type of gag gift.

Another type of custom or novelty golf ball is the wobbling ball.
This ball is elastic and rubbery hence the wobble when you bounce
it off the floor. Obviously this type of golf ball is not for the
golf course but can bring in the laughs for most. Believe it or
not there is actually a golf ball that delivers and electric
shock. Inside there are small metal heads on the surface which
transmit electric charges at intervals, anywhere from 5 to 10
seconds when a small hidden button is pressed. A great desk type
of gift is the Golf Ball Water Globe where you just tip the golf
ball onto the tee. The magnified appearance of the ball inside the
glass globe and the effect of the water make it tough! There is
also something new which is a golf ball through window joke it
consists of a 7 inch diameter clear plastic
encircling a golf ball which is placed on window, glass door or
mirror etc the golf ball will look as if it appears to “break”
through each on a blister card with which has instructions on how
to set up. They also have one that you can use for a car window as
well. Out of all of the novelty and custom golf balls I think the
exploding one would have the most shock value on the tee box.
